Universal Credit and managed migration: Work and Pensions Committee to question charities and policy specialists

The Work and Pensions Committee will take evidence from charities and policy specialists on the process of moving people claiming benefits onto Universal Credit.

About the session

The DWP resumed the managed migration of people currently on legacy benefits last week after it was put on hold during the pandemic. The session will examine the implications of the resumption, looking at the lessons that could be learnt from the general role out of UC and the first wave of managed migration, which was piloted in Harrogate.

The hearing will also look at the impact of the rising cost of living on those claiming benefits and explore potential changes to the regulations governing further managed migration.
