The Science and Technology Committee is to hold a special evidence session ahead of a debate in the House of Commons on the afternoon of Tuesday 14 December to approve new measures in response to covid-19. The new measures were announced by the Government yesterday.
Purpose of the session
The Committee’s session will explore the current understanding and
analysis of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2. Topics will include:- updates on the latest understanding of Omicron
- vaccines
- the latest experience of South Africa
- non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs)
This session will be the twenty-seventh of the Committee's inquiry into UK Science, Research and Technology Capability and Influence in Global Disease Outbreaks.
