New business park in north Norwich expected to deliver 1,250 new jobs

Norfolk County
A business park being developed on the edge of Norwich with the support of a loan from Norfolk County Council is expected to result in 1,250 new jobs, plus supply chain and construction.

Infrastructure works have just been completed

on Phase 1 at the 100-acre Broadway Enterprise Park, close to Norwich Airport, that includes the Norwich North Recycling Centre and will host a mix of commercial and industrial premises, warehousing, as well drive-through restaurants.

The scheme was able to get off the ground thanks to a £1m loan from Norfolk County Council to help finance the site infrastructure.

Phase 1 of the scheme has provided access for around 20 acres in the park for a commercial development of 11 serviced plots. Up to 83,500sqm of units will be built on the site fronting Broadland Northway at the junction with the A140 Cromer Road, with the later phases delivering the remainder of the development including a range of commercial uses with landscaping, footpaths, cycleways and bus stops.

Outline planning permission for the whole site was granted by Broadland District Council in June 2022 and Building Partnerships Ltd has progressed with the site master plan and overall design. The development is strategically recognised in the Greater Norwich Local Plan

Cllr Fabian Eagle, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth commented: "Schemes like this provide the infrastructure that is crucial to unlocking economic growth and creating jobs. I'm delighted to see the fantastic job done in preparing the way for an enterprise park that will provide opportunities for a range of businesses."

Paul Knowles, Director of Building Partnerships Ltd said: "This development would not have got off the ground without the support of Norfolk County Council and it's great to see the first phase of works completed on schedule.

"This is a prominent location, close to Norwich Airport, the A140 and Norwich Distributor Road and Broadway Enterprise Park promises to be an important employment site for the city and beyond."
